Ice Skating in Bymarka

  • 2/12/20

I borrowed some long-distance ice skates and enjoyed a lovely day skating over Stor-Leirsjøen, Litl-Leirsjøen and many laps around Skjellbreia.  A very fun way to enjoy the cold while waiting for the snow to arrive.

The ice was mostly very "safe" - think and strong - but in places it was thin enough that we would easily have gone through.  Everyone in my group was fully kitted out, and ready to go through the ice, but fortunately none did, even as we experimented on thinner sections on our return.

Some of what I get up to outdoors

I'm from Scotland but currently live in Trondheim.  Most of my free time goes to the outdoor activities shown here, but away from this I am an electronics engineer and also like playing music in my spare time.
