Skiing in the Shadow of Snøhetta

A weekend of ski-camping by Snøhetta.  Skiing from Kongsvoll towards Snøhetta and back to Hjerkinn.

We camped by Strindåtjørnin.

With two friends I spend the weekend skiing from Kongsvoll towards Snøhetta and back to Hjerkinn.  On the Saturday we experienced very icy conditions and patchy snow, which made for hard progress.  We skied well after nightfall before setting up camp.  The next day we were rewarded with a fresh coating of powder snow for our journey back towards the train.

I'm from Scotland but currently live in Trondheim.  Most of my free time goes to the outdoor activities shown here, but away from this I am an electronics engineer and also like playing music in my spare time.
