Romjul Skiing in Rondane

Romjul (the period between Christmas and New Year) and New Years at Øygårdsetra, Rondate.
With Corona keeping us from travelling back to Scotland for Christmas, we had the opportunity to take a week of skiing in Rondane with some friends.
With short days (though 40 min longer than in Trondheim), we decided on a hytta (cabin) rather than camping and found the lovely Øygardssætre cabin - a very old summer-farm building.
After a challenging drive along the very icy E6 (main road to Oslo and beyond from Trondhiem), we struggled to drive up the steep, hairpinned road to the seter in our hired car. Fortunately at the point where we could go no longer in the car, the cabin owner drove past in the other direction, and was able to go and fetch some snow chains to enable us to drive the rest of the way up the hill. Upon arrival we were told that the cabin had a major bonus that we had not expected - a sauna!
Snow conditions were little poor on the first day, but with fresh snow and little wind got better each day, and we were enjoying great conditions by mid-week.
